Forty millimeters is the number people fixate on, but the way this GMT-Master II actually sits on the wrist is what matters. The case is short between the lugs, so on a 6.5-inch wrist the bracelet wraps without the case tipping or the lugs hanging off the edge. It reads as a sports watch, not an oversized one.
The Oyster bracelet does a lot of the work. Flat, tapering links keep the weight low and centered, so the head doesn't slide around a narrower wrist the way a loose bracelet does. Get it sized to one link of play and it stays put.
The black dial and green-black ceramic bezel keep it quiet from across a room and only show the color up close. Cuff or no cuff, dress-down or a jacket, it clears a shirt sleeve and doesn't fight it.
